Daymarch Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 26, 2026

Daymarch is an iOS game that turns your real-life activity into a daily fantasy adventure. Your Apple Health data becomes a character, your activity sets and meets daily goals, and a narrated story follows along. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what data the app and its server collect and what happens to it. It is written to match what the software actually does.

Daymarch is run by a single independent developer, Mark Rossetti. You can reach me any time at mark.a.rossetti@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account information

Health data — daily aggregates only

The app reads Apple Health (HealthKit) data on your device, with your permission, and uploads one summarized value per metric per day — daily aggregates only, never raw samples, never a continuous stream, and never your location. You choose in Health which categories to grant, and the app only uploads what you have granted. The daily metrics fall into these categories:

How your data is used

Story generation (Anthropic)

Daymarch’s daily story chapters are written by a large language model. To generate a chapter, the server sends Anthropic’s API a structured summary of your game day: your character and party names, the day’s goals and how far you got (for example, “18 of 18 minutes of mindful minutes”), the day’s outcome and streak, and short story notes about which stats rose or fell that day (for example, a note that rest improved a stat). Raw health data is not sent — only these derived daily facts. These prompts and the generated story text are also stored in our database for quality and debugging.

Anthropic processes this data as a service provider under its commercial terms of service; it is not used for advertising and is not sold. See Anthropic’s commercial terms for how they handle API data.

Parties

If you join a party, the other members of that party can see your character’s name and calling, your daily goals and live progress toward them (targets, amounts, and percentages), your daily outcomes and streak, and the shared story chapters your days help write. They cannot see your underlying health metrics beyond what your goals reveal. If you leave a party, past shared chapters remain part of that party’s story.

Storage and security

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. To delete your account and all associated data, email mark.a.rossetti@gmail.com from the address associated with your account (or include your account details). Account deletion is currently handled manually by the developer — there is no in-app delete button yet — and will be completed promptly on request. Deleting the app from your phone stops all uploads immediately; revoking Health permissions does the same for any category at any time.

Children

Daymarch is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. During private testing, meaningful changes will also be mentioned in TestFlight release notes.
